Sometimes a quartet, sometimes a trio, “Straight Up With A Twist” is a kitchsy combo that plays well-known jazz & pop standards, as well as TV show themes from the 1960s in a cool, groovy style. It’s a little like a jazz group from the Sixties being teleported into the 21st Century.
If at first you don’t recognize the tune they’re playing, listen a little bit longer. Just because it sounds like a jazz standard, doesn’t mean it didn’t start out as a classic rock anthem. Fun, funny, weird, cool, & fun; what the hell more can one ask of a few guys with instruments?
